awakened me at 5:03
i had no idea
what was happening
ummmmmm
school?
but
my students give me
energy
and today
i've smiled
i've laughed
i've hugged
i've loved
i've taught (i hope)
this is where god has me
this is where god has me
bless it, lord
bless it
and for these i am thankful (working on a list of 1000. posting on mondays.)
12. school (for some students, it's their best place. for all of mine, it's where they are prayed for.)
13. my supportive husband (he might be on every list)
14. oatmeal
15. brown sugar
16. youth trips that bring revival
17. answered prayer
18. my girl who worked so hard to eat with me on saturday
19. my mom who let us play in clay after the tough lunch in #18
20. my nephew who chants about playing outside

oh kendal, #18 has me in blinking hard. i can only imagine the blessing you are to those God has placed within your beautiful sphere of influence.
ReplyDeleteso that was supposed to read 'has me blinking hard.' proof-reading is difficult when my sight is blurry. ;)
ReplyDeletethanks Kendal ... what an opportunity you have:) you inspire me:)
ReplyDeleteKendal,
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you are still working with your girl. Oh, and brown sugar, yum.
How lovely Kendal! I like that you enjoy your kids so much... that is what makes such great teachers!
ReplyDeleteAmen to the answered prayer gift. :o)
This is such a fun post! Reminds me to be thankful!!!
ReplyDeleteThere is no better place to be than right where He has you. I am glad I found your link @ Jen's place. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteLove your list! 5:03? Wow, you are amazing!
ReplyDeleteLove you poem and your big, big heart, friend! I'm with Nic about #18 -- that got to me this morning (as I eat my oatmeal!).
ReplyDeleteLove you!!
Of course, I meant to say love "your" poem -- darn "r!"
ReplyDelete#19 struck my heart. I'm assuming you were doing pottery and I guess I love the idea of creating, especially after doing something so difficult (#18). Knowing that you are creating, or re-creating, just as God first created us. Lovely image.
ReplyDeleteKendal, I don't fully understand #18 so I'm not sure how to respond (after reading all the posts). Mainly, I just wanted to pop over and say hi. Are you a teacher? What do you teach? I look forward to "seeing" you every Tuesday and the other days I'm on top of it enough to stop by. Blessings for a beautiful 2011! Jenny
ReplyDeletePS I'm currently working on trying to get published. I'd love any advice you have. You can email me directly at jennyforgey1@yahoo.com.
