avoiding

Since August, I've been working toward a national certification in teaching. We call it, not very affectionately, boards. It is a grueling, taxing process. I know that I am already a better teacher because of it, but now that I'm down to the last days (the portfolio must be postmarked by March 31) it's making me crazy. So, instead of finding a way to cut four lines out of Entry One, I'm blogging. I've written a list!

My favorite distractions today:
  1. Checking my vitals - email, email, facebook, blogs
  2. Calling my sister
  3. Staring out the window in hopes of seeing a blue bird
  4. Staring at the ground to watch plants grow
  5. Looking in the refrigerator
  6. Calling Chris, who's in his wood shop, to see if he's noticed the blue bird that's flinging itself at one of the windows - he sees it. thinks it's stupid.
  7. Starting a load of laundry
  8. Checking my vitals - email, email, facebook, blogs
  9. Checking my vitals - email, email, facebook, blogs
  10. I would check the ten-day forecast, but I'm scared to. It's such a lovely day, why ruin it by finding something like rain or....snow - the horror, the horror.

Stay tuned for a list of my most often mistyped words. I know you are all on pins and needles waiting for that one.
