dirt

My boys play baseball so I have a laundry ritual. Soak the uniform for at least an hour in cold water, one cup of spray n wash and two scoops of oxy clean. Then wash as usual. Almost all of the infield comes out. Most of the outfield, too. Almost. I feel the same. I spend my time with Jesus working out the infield. The outfield. But the remnants…. Sometimes I get so angry – why can’t I be normal? Healthy? Real? But those stains? They’re my testimony. My reminders. My humility. Thank you, Jesus for the dirt.

I'm linking up to Emily's tuesdays unwrapped and Amber's the run amuck. Enjoy!

  1. Wow. I love your honesty. So glad God doesn't require us to be clean to come to Him, but instead He covers our stains. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Kendal,
Yes, it's the face to face with our sinfulness that keeps us humble and grateful before Him. Thank you for reminding me of the daily reminders from our lives that keep us centered on His truths.

  4. Stains add texture and color...we all have them. They wash away easily.
    Then we glow.

  5. Let us praise Him for taking our filthy stains and washing them out... not with spray n' wash and oxy clean - but with His blood.
I love this simple reminder... He isn't intimidated by our ground in dirt!

  6. wonderful.
i appreciate the baseball analogy. sometimes, those stains (scars?) can be good reminders of things we're not meant to forget....
ps: try 'iron-out'... you can get it at lowes. i add that to my oxy/detergent solution!
