there are times
i'm overwhelmed
can't believe
i'm entrusted
to care for these boysyet
lying sick on the couch
i find myself saying
do you have your sunscreen?your green shirt is in the laundry room...
do you have your hat?
did you pack your toothbrush?
how did i learn to do this
how do i know what to say
what to feed them
what to teach them so they
won't make my mistakes
i'm blind at times, deaf, dumb
but God sheds
light as needed
and gives me what i need for each day
after all,his mercies are new every morning
so i'm on this wild
ride
trusting
hoping
loving it
The left picture shows Jack winning the 40-yard dash at field day today. So glad Chris could go. Hank is in the right photo. He plays centerfield for his high school JV baseball team. They've only lost one game! These are my favorite photos of the day. Check out Patty's Friday photo party at Finding Serendipity to see others' favs. And enjoy your kids even if you don't have the slightest idea what you're doing....
love your words...love the action shots -- they grow up so big (from "jack" to "hank" so fast, meaning Hank was just Jack's size, right?)
ReplyDeleteIt is a journey which requires soul searching, trust and a lot of stamina. It will all be worth it.
ReplyDeleteI came over from Patty's blog hop.

great post! i'm so glad you linked! yes, we are a baseball family. all year long, but especially in season. we are also a soccer family and a dancer's family, and i'm not sure either why or how we learned to do this. i'm working on a post for tomorrow similar. but different. hugs!
ReplyDeleteAmazing, we were parallel on our posting topic this week!
ReplyDeleteI sincerely hope you are back on your feet soon.
Thankfully, tomorrow is a new day and his mercies are new!
It really is a case of learning as we go isn't it?
ReplyDeleteGreat shots & hope that you are feeling better.

I have visited you before and didn't catch that you were in NC too! We have been living here for about 6 years and just love it!
ReplyDeleteyes, there are many times that we just need to throw our arms up in the air and say "I have no idea!" And I think when we surrender to this fact, it is when we can be humorous and more graceful.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I often ask God to parent Joshua (since he IS the Father!). And we are amazed at how God will show us in little ways how to better parent him, either by a friend's advice, or something we'll read, or just new random occurrences. God is always at work, and I am glad that HE is parenting Joshua 24/7...even when I have no clue!
