my parents. light-livers. |
of turkey to tree
is a daunting thirty days of
meal prep
clean-up
decorating
shopping
wrapping
concerts
parties
tournaments
and
it seems i'll miss the word-come-to-dwell-with-us
unless i take the time to
sit
still
and
let in the light
what will you do this season to let in the light?
linking with:
michelle for hear it monday, use it on sunday, kathy for titus 2 confessions, joan for sharing his beauty, laura for playdates with god, jennifer for tell his story, jen for soli deo gloria, emily for imperfect prose
Ah, your parents are so charming.
ReplyDeleteFondly,
Glenda
Love the picture of your parents Kendal. Glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Letting in the light…..yes. Slowing down, sitting in my little red paisley chair and opening the Word is how I will let in the light this Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI wish the time from turkey to tree was longer, but I guess we use up all the time we have and always want more.
ReplyDeleteVisiting from #TellHisStory. The time between is too short and I know this year I need more of just being with Him. I don't want to miss Him.
ReplyDeleteMany blessings,
Beth
It's easy to get lost on all that busy, isn't it? I just keep reminding myself of what you say here: slow. And listen. It makes all the difference.
ReplyDeleteLove the prose & the picture. Yes, unless we take the time, we. will. miss. it. Thank you for this reminder today. I visited from Imperfect Prose.
ReplyDeleteSo easy to get carried away with all the busy, busy, busy. It struck me harder than usual, how we're so prone to busy-ness and commercialism, because it was December 3 when we returned to the USA from Haiti. A stark difference.
