upon hills

take the hills!
it's where
 help
and
 good news
come
from
take the hills!
it's where
God meets his people
take the hills!
take the hills!
take the hills!
even
when
you
are
slow.

I was inspired to write this by my seventeen-minute-per-mile pace up this hill today. Thank you, pace. Where are you seeing inspiration in the mundane today?

  1. I have not been to see you in ages, Kendal. And what a perfect day to visit as your poem is beautiful and right for me this day. No matter our pace (and mine would be well beyond 17 minutes per mile), He is with us and will be there on the hill when we arrive. The pace does give me time to ponder His beauty, His love for one such as I, and so much more.
I have been calmed here today. ~ linda

  4. Oh, I like this. I usually want to avoid the hills, but you're right, it's in the HARD that God most often meets us. Thanks for joining us at #SmallWonder.

  5. Oh, love this insight! Better the hills than the valley of the shadow of death, right?! Thanks for sharing your gift.

  6. Love this!! Such a good new mantra (take the hills!) when I start doing hill repeats for my training for my next 1/2 marathons. Good things DO come from going up them (one thing is we get to go down!).

  7. I can hear the rhythm of your footsteps as you conquer the hill, where determination and the help of God matter more than speed.
