a positive list

these are good:
  1. Jack told me that he will make a sculpture in his reading class today (with play dough and straws) of something that represents freedom. When I asked what he plans to create he said, "A cross."
  2. Hank stepped up and joined the youth praise team at our church (the new one). And he played last night. And he sang last night. And he was awesome.
  3. The pastor's wife emailed to let me know that Chris and the rest of the team landed safely in Bangalore, India yesterday. Which was already today for them.
  4. I feel close to comfortable in my new classroom. And with my new curricula. And with my 95(ish) students.
  5. I have the door open to the back porch right now and can hear my crazy, adolescent cats wrestling with a string. They crack me up!

  1. Kendal,
I found your blog through a comment you made on Life Overseas, and I immediately connected with what you said about struggling to connect and wanting to be alone...the public school teacher in a little community of homeschoolers, the whole thing. Oh, I get it. That's not where I am now, but I was in that very place not long ago.

Anyway, I'm glad I bounced over...enjoyed reading your blog.
