on the way home....and i am undone

there was a wreck and i was near
and
i held the living girl in my arms
while she desperate-called
for her
sister-who-didn't-make-it
and
i rocked this nine-year-old
under a pooh quilt
while her mom cried out for help help help
and
i
am
undone
and never ever ever ever
want to send my child out in a car
again
but tomorrow the sun is going to rise
i
know
this
and i am undone with wondering why
lord, will you peace-be-still
the red-car mom and sister tonight?

with lisa-jo tonight....

  4. Heart-wrenching.

Dear Lord, I have not words except hold Kendal and the nine-year old and the red-car mom and their families. Please intercede for their needs. In Jesus' name, Amen.

  7. Kendal, God picked you to arrive for your strength, your faith and your compassion. If I remember correctly, Cam had a similar experience after leaving the beach one year. May God comfort this family and you.

  8. Oh Kendal, I am so sorry. I just can't imagine how difficult. God had you there in that moment to witness, to comfort, to aid in that horrific scene. May He grant you peace and resolve to the fact that He put you there for a reason. May dreams and reoccurring visions of the scene only come as the Spirit puts them in you as a constant reminder to pray for this family. Praying for you, Kendal.

  9. So shocked to know that the child was my former student. God definitely used you to comfort her sister. Praying for you and thanks for talking to me yesterday on the phone.

  11. I came to find this to find the story behind the comment you left. I still can't imagine. I don't want to. That is the hard stuff. The terrible stuff. The brave stuff.

Thank you for being a mama's arms when the mama couldn't be there.

You were Jesus there for a time-stand-still moment.
Amazed and grateful for women like you.
