bloodroot with trillium peeking through |
hey, check this out
when he shares the exciting
(here in the southern united states
it is pronounced checkis out
and out has two syllables)
i found this phrase's twin
in matthew's gospel - behold
he uses it thirty-nine times
behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream
behold, angels came and were ministering to him
behold, a leper came to him and knelt before him
behold, your king is coming to you
behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two
behold, i am with you always, to the end of the age
i'm taking time this easter season to
behold
the truth that
while we were weak
while we were sinners
while we were enemies of god
he reconciled
us
to him
behold
what are you beholding this season?
continuing to count his gifts to 1000 -
967. plants in the ground
968. bloodroot miracle- every. year.
969. laughter at work
970. both sons at the dinner table
971. triple-chocolate cookies

Dear Kendal
ReplyDeleteEvery morning when I wake up, I behold the beauty, goodness and wonder that is God, as well as savoring the fresh, delightful taste of His mercies that is as new and bright as the first rays of the sun to greet the new morning! Oh, this is something everyone should check out!
Much love
Mia

ReplyDeletethe easter is worth beholding every year and every day
Oh, love this.
ReplyDeleteI am beholding the fact that the Almighty God of the universe calls Himself a friend of mine - and that He has invited me into a PERSONAL relationship with Him.
Nothing short of a miracle...
GOD BLESS!
I'm beholding MY palms waving in the parade of Palm Sunday. I will always read "hey checkis out" for my beholds. Love it.
ReplyDeleteAnd now I hear Jesus saying, "Checkis out" (with a southern accent, of course). Love how you open my eyes to the holy, Kendal.
