on the occasion of my wishing

i wish that
it was socially acceptable to wear aprons. at all times.
stinkbugs were on the list of endangered species
rain only happened at night
and
i wish that
children always outlived their parents
cancer allowed dignity in death
that car wrecks were an impossibility
and
i wish that
my husband
my boys
my parents
my siblings
my nieces and nephews
could know that i love them so much
that i am the teensiest bit overwhelmed
and
i wish that
i could fully grasp the nearness
that god arranged for jesus and me

what's on your wish list tonight?

  1. the nearness that God arranged --- beautiful words and truth.
I wish I grasped that better too.
I wish that I would live more in His grace and less in my unsuccessful striving

  2. absolutely, beautifully said. so much is revealed in our wishing, and so much bared before Him. makes me think we should all take the time to pour out our wishes to Him.

  3. I wish I didn't worry so much (which, I realize, is a wish that's in my control...but still, I worry).

    Happy Easter, Kendal.

  4. Dear Kendall
I wish all marriages will be as happy as mine. Saturday was our 28th wedding anniversary. I also wished that all the children in the world could have parents that loved them. Over via Michelle's. I hope you had a blessed Easter.

  5. I confess I have picked up my kids in the car line, apron still on! I wish I could wear them at all times, too - however, though I'm a bit tired of cold rain - I love a rainy day that allows me to sit on the porch:)I wish? I wish that teen sons still hugged, smiled freely, didn't want to leave the nest before they were ready. I wish I could dance gracefully these mothering steps in the midst of the challenges:) Wishing you blessings and wishes fulfilled:)

  7. These are good wishes and on my list too. I wish, also, for rest. For healing. For clarity to make the hard choices. Praying this Eastertide is a wish come true for you, Kendal.
