from my corner, on a day off

writing for five minutes on view

i'm sitting in my spot -
in which you see morning me....
the corner of the living room couch -
and i have all the accoutrements
of a summer day off -
glasses
books
laptop
coffee
water
and when i look up i see
laundry. one load. unfolded.
jack's backpack contents. strewn.
four footstools. empty of feet and even socks.
summer time tree leaves. sunlight spangled.
blue birds. taking turns on the nest.
cardinal. standing sentinel on a garden post.
and when i look in i see
me and more
writing
word-reading
thanking
and
joy

what do you see? ya know, right now?

  1. Very cool perspective. I seem to have some laundry in my view right now too. Doh!

  2. Ohhhh, I want to jump onto that couch and just chat it up with you all day long.

    Happy, happy summer, friend.

It's so fun seeing a little glimpse of your house.

ps You better be working on that book of yours on that couch of yours.

  4. I just love your blog! I look out my office window and see the three baby robins still in their nests, knowing for not much longer as they are getting big and have lots of feathers. Flying lessons should begin soon then empty nest syndrome for me,...

  5. I see a monarch butterfly flitting around in my mountaintop backyard on a beautiful sunny day.

    God is so good...

    GOD BLESS!
