a nine-word sermon

the run down the mountain
was
quiet
save for my feet
slap
slap
slapping
and the dogs' nails
tip
tip
tapping
on frozen country road
the air was
crisp
smoky
pine-needly
the wan blue winter sky
welcome after an
eternity
of
gray
and
the frost was gone where the sun shone through
the frost was gone where the sun shone through

in what small ways does God speak to you?

  1. The frost was gone where the sun shone through. Beautiful words and a reminder of our need to seek the Son.

  4. This was just beautiful. May I remember this when the chill of the world around me threatens. May I remember the Son always, always shines through. So grateful to have read this tonight. Blessings!

  5. Before we did our 4 hour training run for our 50K, I posted my feelings of dread on FB. One of my friends told me to look for God while we were running. So I actually stopped and took pictures of the beautiful things that surrounded me (even on a dreary day). He reminded me that looking for Him can get me through anything.

  6. Rich. So rich. The frost was gone where the son shone through... Gosh, just breathtaking. Thank you, Kendal. (Stopped by from Kelli's place and so thankful I did.)

  7. love the imagery that made me right beside you, watching that frost be undone by the sun.

  8. What a lovely collection of words. I found myself watching my windshield thaw this morning, creeping ever so slowly. Facing the sun makes everything thaw, doesn't it! Thank you for linking at Unforced Rhythms!
