10 minutes

6:15 pm
pitch black
raining
what is the football team doing?

6:17 pm
text message
my friend
oh, she's hurting
what if tears traveled?

6:19
praying
lord, peace for my friend
do you hear me?

6:22
rejoice in the LORD always
again i will say, rejoice.
let your gentleness be evident to all.
do you love me even when i fail?

6:23
do not be anxious about anything
but in everything
through prayer and petition
with thanksgiving
present your requests to God
and the peace of God
which transcends all understanding
will guard your hearts and minds
in Christ Jesus
do you love me even
when i quote something i struggle to live out?

6:25
pitch black
raining
what is the football team doing?

  1. Love that this He does love us when we fail, and are barely living out the words that we pray! I love that He has the power to live those words out through us!

when i quote something i struggle to live out? I'm guilty. But, yes, He does. He most definitely does. Beautiful.

I think this pleases Him fully -- knowing that we are literally hanging onto His Word for dear life, that we are putting on His armor to help us weather the battle, that our fighting moments and our true surrenders all reside in His word breathed out.

I imagine this is why I never tire of reading quotes and poetry.

  9. Kendal your words always move me and make me think and reflect on God's simple truth in our lives. There is a whole lot to think about in 10 minutes.

  11. That is breathlessly beautiful.

I hear time passing - measured by heartbeats.

    living out what we quote

We are all actors behind masks
I AM AN ACTOR BEHIND A MASK

On my best of days - still so unlike Our Lord
    On the worst of days...

And I love love love how you circled around and ended where you began. That is poignant poetry, and a stirring poet, who can round the curves - and beget THE point.

    wow. thank you.
