what will you do with your minutes?

writing for five minutes on still:

maybe it's summer's end
cicadas trilling through afternoon
crickets joining in at dusk
dry garden
school supplies out at wal-mart
maybe it's summer's end
that makes me want to be
still
i would be content
to stare out the window today
and let that be all
but i'll allow schedule
to propel me forward
after i have
had
my few minutes of
still
he said
be still
and
know
that i am god
it's in the still
that i know
anything
at
all

  1. Good morning, Kendal. This is so peaceful and beautiful. So pleasant to read with my cup of coffee this morning.

Just makes me sigh relief for a moment.

{I have the link up now for Studio JRU} Thanks for stopping in this morning.

  5. Good morning,
This really resonated with me today. I was filling up my car on the way to work this morning and I had the strongest desire to be sitting on the beach somewhere with the breeze blowing and doing absolutely nothing but sitting there and being still. I think God is trying to tell me something. I love Him so!!

  9. I could look out the window with you. I am realizing today that since I have been back home from She Speaks, I have not stopped moving. I've done my quiet time, but all the day long, I am busy. I need me some Sabbath.

  14. I can hear your cicadas, all trilling.
I can see you there, chilling and stilling.

    Isn't God thrilling?

    :)
