on growing

my brother, cam's, waterfall after a flash flood
(his photo)
writing for five minutes on growing

my children are not the tallest
in their classes
as neither chris nor i
possess notable height
i often wish height for them
i admit that i have prayed
height for them
but
the physical growth
is. so. unimportant.
i will pray for
god growth for them
boys, i am
praying for you and asking God
to fill you with the knowledge of his will
through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.
And i pray this in order that you may live a life
worthy of the Lord
and may please him in every way:
bearing fruit in every good work,
growing in the knowledge of God....

  1. Such beautiful worship...to surrender your earthly want for His bigger, more important purposes.

Rich blessings in your journey, Kendal!

  2. Wow...I have had those same thoughts...and that is truly my prayer...that my children would grow in favor with God and man. Appearance matters very little...it's the heart that God looks upon. Thank you for those lovely words today!

  4. Your prayer is so similar to mine, and, honestly, it's a little scary for me sometimes. The decision to grow in the Lord is their own decision. I pray that my relationship with the Lord continues to grow so that they will want to grow in that way, too.

  12. I need to pray this, too, Kendal. My Noah is tiny -- he's not even at the very bottom of the growth chart...in the 0%. I worry about that alot. But you remind me there are other things to pray for.
