and i guess i could describe the
fire in the fireplace
sunrise-over-snowscape
solitude and coffee
that morning has granted
but
my first thought was actually....wrestling?
you see
hank was able to watch his younger brother
for the first time on tuesday
(a pin!)
and then off to the high school for the reverse
(a decision!)
and after hank won
jack slipped down to sit beside him
on the bleachers
and i could see the backs of their heads

I LOVE that you chose to write of wrestling instead of the usual things that may accompany such a prompt!!! I love even more what you see and described between your two boys.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes! I like how your thoughts on cherished turn to wrestling bring your boys together. Those are precious, cherished moments!
ReplyDeleteI love that brothers as friends. My two men have just figured out how to annoy each other. We had one of our first screaming matches between the two of them over the younger's tablet and the time not being correct on it. I can't wait to see the evolution from frenemies to friends.
ReplyDeleteI always feel as though it's the little things - like a wrestling game - that mean the most. :-)
ReplyDeleteI have two all-grown-up sons...and yes, I understand. There are few things more precious than when I see my boys have one of those *friends* moments.
ReplyDeleteGOD BLESS!
That's a great sight for a Mama in the bleachers!
ReplyDeletewow that is so cool and warm a mama's heart. My kids are all adults now and I can't get over how they are growing closer. Love watching that. You blessed me today, Kendall
ReplyDeleteIt's the most unexpected moments that deserve our attention and a time for us to cherish them. Good for you that you seized that moment.
ReplyDeleteI Love it too! thanks for sharing!
